Steven Craig Alcorn

Mr. Steven Craig Alcorn is an entrepreneur, engineer, inventor, author, and educator with over 42 years of expertise, best known for his leadership in the theme park industry and online education proficient in educational content development, instructional design, corporate management, strategic planning, and engineering product development.

Mr. Alcorn earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1977. Following this, he completed his Hughes Master Fellowship at the same institution, from 1977 to 1979.

Mr. Alcorn began his career as a Systems Engineer at Walt Disney Imagineering from 1982 to 1984, where he designed show control systems, wrote operating systems, and served as the lead Systems Engineer. 

Transitioning to Linn Electronics, he became Vice President of Engineering and Chief Operating Officer from 1984 to 1986, where he reshaped the engineering department, spearheaded the design and development of key products, and led high-performing teams. 

In 1986, he assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at Alcorn McBride Inc., driving innovation in product design and developing advanced audio and video systems, including the award-winning Digital Video Machine. 

Since 2001, Mr. Alcorn has also been the CEO of Writing Academy Inc., overseeing the development of online writing courses, managing partnerships with educational institutions, and enhancing student engagement, while maintaining the company’s reputation as a leading online learning platform. 

As CEO of BrainStream Ltd, Mr. Alcorn is committed to driving the company’s success in the Canadian market by focusing on developing strategies and implementing growth initiatives, leading high-performing teams, and ensuring efficient resource management.

Chief Operating Officer
Tzu-Ying (Kimberley) Chen

An experienced Health Manager with over 25 years of experience, specializing in international sales and customer relations across diverse industries. She excels in promoting children’s health education and managing comprehensive office administration with a strong focus on efficiency and effectiveness.

Mrs. Chen earned her Bachelor of Arts in French from Tamkang University in Taiwan, where she studied from 1993 to 1996.

She began her career as an Overseas Secretary at UMAX Computer Corporation in Taiwan in 1996 and served as a liaison to support effective communication and collaboration between international offices and local teams until 1998.

There, she handled file system management, documented expenses and financial data, and organized and distributed communications. In 1998, she joined Compal Electronics, Inc. as a PC Order Coordinator, managing and executing the installation and configuration of operating systems, integrating computer hardware components, and handling workstation deployments. In 2000, she transitioned to Intellisys Inc. as a Secretary to the General Manager, where she established administrative policies and procedures, prepared detailed agendas, and conducted comprehensive research. The following year, she joined ICP Electronics Inc. as an Account Manager/Sales, where she excelled in building long-term client relationships, collaborating closely with sales teams, and maintaining accurate financial records for various accounts. From 2003 to 2004, she served as an International Sales Representative at Oriental System Technology Inc., where she was responsible for managing accounts receivables, planning and forecasting sales activities, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. Her next role was as a Channel Sales & Marketing Specialist at PROMISE Technology, Inc. from 2004 to 2008, where she developed targeted advertising campaigns, planned interviews and press conferences, and monitored and analyzed the performance of corporate websites. In 2020, she joined NXP Semiconductors Taiwan Ltd as

a Facility and Office Administrator, where she oversaw visitor management, inventory control of office supplies, and ensured the confidentiality and security of files and records. Currently, she serves as a Health Manager at Dongjie Biomedical in Taiwan, where she develops and delivers educational programs on children’s growth, coordinates the promotion and distribution of children’s nutritional products, and designs and implements health programs and initiatives.

As Chief Operating Officer (COO) of BrainStream Ltd., her focus will be on driving product innovation and leading strategic growth initiatives to ensure the company’s success in the Canadian market.

Chief Marketing Officer
Ya-Hui (Laura) Kao

Mrs. Ya-Hui Kao is an experienced human resource manager with 20 years of expertise in managing HR operations, strategic workforce planning, and orchestrating comprehensive training and recruitment initiatives.

Mrs. Kao earned her college diploma from Chihlee College of Business in Taiwan, where she studied from 1999 to 2002. Following this, she pursued and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Business

Administration from the China University of Technology in Taiwan, graduating in 2005.

She began her career as an Administrative Assistant at Shin-Kong Life Real Estate Service Co. Ltd in Taiwan from 2002 to 2003, where she was responsible for preparing documents, managing and

distributing incoming mail, and scheduling meetings. In 2005, she transitioned to AB Taiwan Limited as an HR & Admin. Assistant, where she maintained personnel-related records, provided prompt and

professional responses, and coordinated the advertising and posting of job vacancies. In 2012, she joined Ralph Lauren Corporation as an HR Executive in Taiwan, where she oversaw HR operations, planned workforce requirements, and developed labor relations policies. From 2013 to 2016, she served as an HR Executive at Michael Kors (HK) Limited in Taiwan, where she managed HR operations, collaborated with other departments, and implemented tailored employee development programs. Her career continued to progress when she became a Senior HR Executive at ImagineX Overseas Ltd. in Taiwan from 2016 to 2017, leading the full spectrum of HR operations, working closely with departmental heads, and driving employee engagement initiatives. In 2017, she joined GAP Taiwan Co., Ltd. as an Area HR Supervisor, where she oversaw daily HR operations, managed training programs and recruitment efforts, and ensured consistent application of company policies and procedures. From 2018 to 2021, she served as an Assistant HR Manager at Lacoste Co. in Taiwan, where she handled documentation related to personnel activities, prepared reports, and organized job vacancy advertisements. Most recently, she worked as a Human Resource Manager at Tiffany & Co. in Taiwan from 2021 to 2022, where she was responsible for strategically planning and evaluating HR operations, assessing workforce requirements, and overseeing the design, coordination, and execution of recruitment programs.

As Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of BrainStream Ltd., Mrs. Kao will concentrate on crafting and executing integrated marketing strategies, developing a robust brand identity, and leading digital marketing initiatives to solidify a strong market presence in Canada.

Chief User Experience Officer
Yung-Wen Cheng

Ms. Yung-Wen Cheng is a highly skilled production service technician with over four years of experience in the animation and visual effects industry. She specializes in data management, system maintenance, technical support, and media integration, bringing dedication and expertise to every project she undertakes.

Ms. Cheng earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English Instruction from the University of Taipei in Taiwan (2014-2018). She then pursued her passion for animation by completing a Diploma in Animation from Conestoga College in Canada (2019-2021). To further enhance her expertise, she also completed a 3D Character Program through remote learning at AnimSchool (2021-2023).

Ms. Cheng began her career as a character designer at Yu-Sheng Animation Studio in Taiwan in 2020, where she developed engaging, age-appropriate characters, created character turnarounds in various artistic styles, and developed character rigs using Adobe Animate. In April 2021, she joined The Socially Awkward in Canada as a 3D Artist through a cooperative education program, where she focused on designing and modeling low-poly background props for Sokodice, unwrapping UVs, and creating detailed textures for the models. From 2021 to 2022, she worked as a cashier at T&T Supermarket, where she was responsible for maintaining accurate cash counts, processing customer refunds, and addressing customer complaints. In 2023, Ms. Cheng joined Sony Pictures Imageworks as a Production Service Technician, providing expert technical support to digital artists and production teams, managing and maintaining production data, and monitoring and optimizing the performance of renders, critical servers, and network loads.

As Chief User Experience Officer (CXO) of BrainStream Ltd., Ms. Cheng will lead the development and execution of user experience strategies, conduct comprehensive user research, and ensure adherence to UX standards and best practices, all aimed at driving success in the Canadian market.

Chief Financial Officer
Chia-Hua (Phyllis) Chen

Mrs. Chia-Hua Chen is a results-oriented finance manager with 23 years of diverse experience in financial management. She is highly proficient in financial analysis and reporting, account relationship management, and foreign exchange management, consistently delivering outstanding results.

Mrs. Chen embarked on her academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Finance from National Taiwan University in Taiwan, where she studied from 1996 to 2000. Building on this foundation, she pursued advanced education in the United States, completing her Master of Science in Business Administration at San Diego State University between 2002 and 2004.

Her professional career began in 2000 when she joined Eastern Broadcasting Co., Ltd. in Taiwan as a Project Specialist. In this role, she led the planning, development, and execution of website projects, working closely with cross-functional teams that included designers, developers, and content creators. In 2001, Mrs. Chen transitioned to Eastern Broadband Telecommunications Co., Ltd. as a Product Development Specialist. Here, she took on the responsibility of overseeing the development and management of the pre-paid card business. Her role involved conducting market research to identify customer needs and preferences, as well as leading the planning, execution, and evaluation of promotional projects. In 2002, she joined Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. in Taiwan as a Marketing Specialist. Over the next two years, she conducted comprehensive market research to gather data on market trends, analyzed sales data and market conditions to develop accurate sales forecasts, and provided administrative and operational support to the Korean Supervisor. Her career took a significant step forward in 2004 when she joined Eagle Tool Industrial Inc. in Taiwan. Initially, she served as a Sales Manager and Finance Manager, where she developed and implemented global sales strategies to expand the company’s international market presence, built and maintained strong relationships with key accounts, and prepared comprehensive financial reports. In 2021, Mrs. Chen was promoted to the role of Finance Manager at Eagle Tool Industrial Inc. In this capacity, she has been responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and filing of all financial statements and reports, developing and presenting financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses, and supervising administrative functions to ensure efficient and effective office operations; a role she continues to fulfill with distinction to this day.

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of BrainStream Ltd., Mrs. Chen will focus on developing and executing comprehensive financial strategies, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, and spearheading the evaluation of investment opportunities. Her efforts will be pivotal in driving the company’s success in the Canadian market.
